“A room without books is like a body without a soul.” ― Marcus Tullius Cicero
Once a month, my friends and I gather for a book discussion. This evening it is my turn to be the host.
I would love to hear from all of you about the books you have read recently.
If you are a member of a book club, what have been your club’s choices? Maybe your book will be our next pick.
Tonight we are discussing The Aviator’s Wife, by Melanie Benjamin. It is about Charles and Anne Lindberg’s life.
Post Script: Tonight, I’m serving a lemon tart. Recipe to follow soon.
Thanks and have a great day.
I’ve just started reading this book. As a modern woman, I found sometimes her insecurity frustrating, but I continue to read because she is on the precipice of being very independent – really testing defined gender roles.
“Never Knowing” by Chevy Stevens
Promotion, “All her life, Sara Gallagher has wondered about her birth parents. As an adopted child with two sisters who were born naturally to her parents, Sara did not have an ideal home life. The question of why she was given up for adoption has always haunted her. Finally, she is ready to take steps and to find closure. But some questions are better left unanswered. After months of research, Sara locates her birth mother—only to be met with horror and rejection. Then she discovers the devastating truth: Her mother was the only victim ever to escape a killer who has been hunting women every summer for decades. But Sara soon realizes the only thing worse than finding out about her father is him finding out about her. What if murder is in your blood?”
