A Tablescape for Fall
For close to a year now, I have been building my blog by concentrating on the food part of celebrations. Today, I will begin to add posts about the other things that add to a celebration such as tablescapes and decorations that add to the ambiance. I hope you enjoy the ideas.
Since we eat food with our eyes first, a beautiful table adds to the experience. For inspiration, below is an example of a fall tablescape for two.
Stores such as Home Goods and Pier One Imports are great sources for reasonably priced seasonal dish and glassware . Estate sales are not only fun to attend; but they too provide great finds.
Table coverings can be anything from a tablecloth to a quilt or a beautiful throw. Fabric remnants also work wonderfully.
Centerpieces can be flowers, fruit, vegetables or seasonal greens. This is a great area to let your imagination soar.
Sources for table items:
Table cloth – Olive green cloth from Bed Bath and Beyond topped with an old Pendleton fringed throw from Etsy.
Dishware – Gold oak leaf plate is from Home Goods. The green soup bowl and plate are from a Williams Sonoma outlet.
The flatware is from Pottery Barn. This was a splurge, but I loved the engravings on the utensils.
The centerpiece is a grouping of fresh gourds and pumpkin candles. An old Halloween mask is added for fun.
Have fun decorating!!
