Men, I want you just thinking of one word all season. One word and one word only: Super Bowl ~Bill Peterson, football coach
According to statistics, more people watch the Super Bowl than any other televised program. Since there are many get togethers with friends and family, it is the perfect time to have a party.
Whenever I’m entertaining I always have a much better time if I can prep things in advance. Choose food that can be made a day or two before the event. A great choice is Super Sunday Chili. Chop and slice everything you can. Prep the bar area. Get out the beer cozies. Be sure to have enough glassware.
If you are serving hot spicy foods, serve beer or a non- acidic drink like a Bloody Mary. Your stomach will thank you. If you are serving beer, consider having a beer tasting contest during half time. It is a lot of fun to see if people can determine what beer they taste. A great article with the how-tos and a printable beer tasting score sheet can be found at Chiff.
Decorate with your team’s colors. This creates a fun festive environment. Some great ideas can be found at Real Simple. Another of my favorite sites for wonderful design ideas is HGTV. They didn’t disappoint in regards to super bowl ideas. Check out the HGTV blog.
On game day, fill up your kitchen sink or a small galvanized bucket with ice. Add the bottle beverages and let everyone help themselves.
Have a great time!!
